Who let the dogs out? Locks busted, animals let loose

VANDALS busted off the locks and let dogs out of their cages at the Hervey Bay council pound in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A Fraser Coast Regional Council spokesman said locks had been damaged and five dogs were let out of their cages at the Hervey Bay Pound and Refuge Facility on Cicada Lane around 3.30am Wednesday.

The spokesman said a Staffy was still missing and a refuge dog is being treated by a vet after sustaining injuries from one of the other animals.

He said four of the five dogs remained in the facility and were put back in their cages on Wednesday morning.

Police are investigating the incident and are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
