There's nowhere these travellers would rather be

LAST year, Bev and Michael Preston visited the top tourist beaches in South America, but all they could think was "we'd prefer to be at Mooloolaba".

The Brisbane couple make the journey up for Christmas each year and secure one of the few prized holiday park sites on the Mooloolaba beachfront.

They stay for five weeks in their caravan and enjoy one of the closest beachfront views in the prime tourist region. It's not just the view the couple loves.

"It is such a lovely beach and there is nothing between us and the beach," Mr Preston said.

Their five children come and visit with their children and take time out to "explore the low-tide pools".

"We think this is the best camping ground in Queensland," Mr Preston said.

They can stroll to The Esplanade and enjoy the coffee shops, restaurants and boutiques along the beachfront.

And with Mooloolaba's patrolled beach close by, they get to enjoy the best of both worlds.
