REGIONAL viewers are sure to see Come Fly With Me in a primetime slot soon.

Channel Nine’s new comedy debuted to a massive audience of 1.488 million metropolitan viewers. It was the night’s second most-watched show, peaking at 1.787 million viewers.

Regional affiliates NBN and WIN both pulled the controversial BBC series for fear it would offend regional viewers, saying they would wait to see how the show faired the capital cities.

Last night’s high-flying performance is seen by many as a guarantee that it will move into the 8pm timeslot currently occupied by repeats of The Big Bang Theory in the coming weeks.

Set in the UK’s busiest fictional airport, Come Fly With Me features Little Britain stars David Walliams and Matt Lucas.

Encore screenings of the show also air on Mondays at 10pm on digital channel GO!
