Man charged with murder in Bribie death investigation


A MAN  has been charged with murder after a woman's body was discovered in a house in Ningi Saturday afternoon.

A little over 24 hours since the 39-year-old woman's body was found inside a Ningi home, police have charged a 45-year-old man over the death. 

The woman's body was found at a Sunny Court residence about 3.30pm. 

A 45-year-old man from the nearby Bribie Island suburb of Bongaree has been charged with murder, enter premises and commit an indictable offence, break and enter dwelling with intent, stealing and wilful damage. He is due to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on Monday.

It is unclear at this stage whether the man and woman were known to each other. 

UPDATE 4.07pm: POLICE have confirmed a 45-year-old man is assisting with their inquiries into the suspicious death of a woman, whose body was found in a Sunny Court, Ningi home yesterday afternoon.

The victim is believed to be a 39-year-old woman, with her body discovered at about 3.30pm yesterday.

Police investigations into her death are currently ongoing.

9.30am: A POLICE investigation is underway into the discovery of a woman's body at a Ningi home on Saturday afternoon. 

Police were called to the Sunny Court home in the suburb near Bribie Island about 3.30pm when the woman's body was discovered by a relative.

ABC24 is reporting that police are treating the death as a potential murder.

A crime scene has been established, and investigations are continuing.
