Woman punched, stabbed for disturbing burglar

A WOMAN was punched and stabbed after she disturbed a man trying to break into cars in Glenvale this morning.

Police said the McDougall St woman was woken by her dogs growling in the front yard about 1am.

When she went to investigate, a man wearing a black beanie punched her in the side of the face then stabbed her in her stomach area, then fled the area on foot.

The spokesman said the wound was "a very small cut to her side".

The Toowoomba Dog Squad was called to track the man but he was not located.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
