Man dead, woman seriously injured in crash
UPDATE: A man has died in a crash involving a motorcycle and small car on the Warrego Hwy this morning.
Police say the collision happened as the small car attempted to enter the highway from Fairway Dve at Hatton Vale just after 10am.
The male rider of the motorcycle died at the scene while a female pillion passenger sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital about 10.45am.
Two female occupants of the sedan are being treated for back injuries.
Laidley Police Senior Constable Malcolm Clark said it appears the sedan was attempting to cross the highway to get onto the west-bound lanes, while the motorcycle was travelling east.
"It appears that the red Suzuki swift has come out of Fairways drive with the intention of turning right to head west onto the Warrego and has pulled out in front of the motorcycle heading eastbound in the outside left lane," he said.
"There was a male rider and female pillion. The car had two young sisters, the owner of the car driving and the sister a passenger.
"The male rider was deceased at the scene and the female pillion of the motorcycle was airlifted by chopper from the Warrego Highway."
The highway has been closed while police investigate.
