Woman set on fire in Qld home

A WOMAN is in a serious condition with burns to her chest, arms and airway after she was doused in an accelerant and set on fire at a Brisbane home.

The incident occurred at a home on Aldea Crescent at Bracken Ridge about 10.42am.

Police were called following reports a woman had been doused in accelerant and set on fire.

Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed the woman was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with a critical care escort this morning.

A man known to the woman was taken into custody at Chermside and is assisting police with enquiries.
