Woolworths loses itself in rap battle over spaghetti

Apparently the retail giant is also a down-on-its-luck rapper, struggling against a tough upbringing to deliver the rhymes that it knows can change the world.

This small fact was not clear to Jamie McGloin who posted a play on Enimem lyrics to the Woolworths Facebook page, showing him with San Remo pasta and adding "spaghetti" to the rapper's best-known tracks.

Yesterday I was searching for food to make mums spaghetti. I was nervous, my knees were weak, my palms were sweaty and to top it off, I had a vomit on my sweater already.

To be honest, I was ready to drop bombs, but I kept on spaghetti what I wrote down.

I feel I had one shot, one opportunity and I let it slip. I could have seized everything and I left with nothing but a brown onion and tomato paste.

I lost myself in the spaghetti because I had spaghetti on my spaghetti already. Snap back to spaghetti. Oh there's goes more spaghetti!!

So today I went back to purchase some spaghetti, instead of finding spaghetti in the packet, I found this.

It was spaghetti!!!! What should I do with it? Should I return the spaghetti?

Love Jamie xox

This was what Woolworths had been waiting for - all those rap battles in basements and trailer parks. It was Woolies' time to shine:

Dear Jamie, you can do anything you set your mind to man.

The answer to your burning question is pretty clear... All you need to do is Lose Yourself in the spaghetti, the sauce, you own it.

You better never let it go!

You've only got one pan, don't miss your chance to cook, cuz dinner only comes once in a day.

The crowd went wild. Woolworths added "#BOOM" and the battle was won.

It also prompted a raft of other Eminem lyrics, including this encore from Woolworths:

May I have your attention please?
May I have your attention please?
Will the real spaghetti please stand up?
I repeat, will the real spaghetti please stand up?
We're gonna have a problem here…
