Young chefs offer tasty treats

THERE has been plenty of cooking action happening around Emerald over the past week, with MasterChef's John Hughes making a special appearance for Disability Action Week.

Special needs students at Emerald North State School turned into junior MasterChefs last week, with John lending a hand and a few helpful cooking hints.

Together John and the students cooked chocolate brownies and cheesy chicken and bacon pasta bake which was enjoyed by all for an end of term break-up lunch.

On Monday John was the special guest at the Disability Action Week celebration day, where participants took part in a MasterChef cook-off.
