Young men home safe and well after a night in bushland

SIX young men were found safe and well this morning after it was believed they were lost in dense bushland at Finch Hatton.

A Mackay Police spokesman said police were alerted that the teens were missing late yesterday after the parents called 000.

"The parents knew the general area that their children were but were worried because they didn't come home," he said.

"We aren't sure if they crossed floodwaters, got bogged or just broke down but it seems they waited it out until morning, which was the safe thing to do."
