Young woman airlifted following snakebite

A WOMAN has been taken to Mackay for treatment after a reported snakebite in the Whitsundays last night.

The female patient was attended to first by Queensland Ambulance Service at an address on Acacia Drive just after 6pm.

A spokesperson for QAS said she was treated for injuries to her and then flown to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition via rescue helicopter.

No further information was provided.
