UPDATE: The Daily's Facebook followers have helped to reunite a woman with her long lost half-sister.

Kylie Stewart approached the Daily's team yesterday asking for help after looking for her sister for a number of years.

She wrote a letter detailing the information she knew about Alicia and while it wasn't much it was enough to grab the attention of a few Sunshine Coast residents.

Ms Stewart contacted the Daily this morning to say she had been reconnected with Alicia thanks to the post.

"Yes! We have reconnected! Thank you so much for your help, everyone. That was so quick," she said.

"Alicia has made contact with me and we are now chatting.

She said Alicia had told her she felt very few people had the opportunity to reconnect with family and was lucky she was one of them.

"I wholeheartedly agree and can't wait to get to know each other again."

The Daily team thank YOU, the Facebook fans for your help in reconnecting the pair.

HELLO, my name is Kylie Stewart and I am trying to find my half sister Alicia Nicole Corbett.

I would dearly love to find my sister again.

Alicia and I have the same father John Rutherford Corbett. John is a New Zealander who moved to Australia around 1976 after my mother and him split.

He eventually ended up with a lady called Ann/Annie Crosby whose parents are from Adelaide. Annie had a son from a previous relationship called Richard I think.

Alicia was born 8th? Jan 1984. Alicia Nicole Corbett. I think they were living in Maroochydore.

I first met and talked to John when I was 16 when he came to NZ to see his mother Yvonne Corbett (from Otaihanga, Paraparaumu NZ). Yvonnes husband Jack died when I was only small.

I have only met Alicia once when she was 12yrs old when he brought her to NZ to see his mother and to introduce Alicia and I.

Sadly our Grandmother died a couple of years ago and I don't know if Alicia knows this or not.

John lost contact with Alicia many years ago, he told me back in 2008. John has a sister called Robin Fraser who lives in Canada.

Robin and John are not in contact with each other as far as I know and I've not seen or heard from John since around 2008.

John has remarried to a lady from China by the name of Chen, and they have a son called Chen John who would be about 7-8yrs old now.

John was growing mangoes on a plantation in China owned by Chens parents and was working and living in both Australia and China.

When I last saw John he said he was trying to bring Chen back to Australia.

My birth name is Kylie Amber Corbett and my mother changed my surname by deed poll to Scott not long after my parents split. My married name is Stewart.

I would really love to find my sister! She is on the right of the picture approx. 12 years old, I'm around 21 years old.

I am married and have children now and I would love my girls to meet their aunt! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Alicia is a part of me that's been missing for too long.
