'You’re not taking the Kingswood'

Make, model and year? It's a 1974 HQ Kingswood sedan.

What's this car mean to you? Absolutely everything. I love it. It's a big part of our lives now.

Where have you been in it? We went to Bowen the weekend just gone. We have also been up to Eungella. Every Sunday we also go for a drive.

What's your favourite memory? Getting to Bowen and back without breaking down.

Would you ever trade it in? No, I'd like to get more.

How does it fit into your lifestyle? It's a big part of our weekends. We go for a drive every Sunday unless it's raining, we also attend the Covered in Chrome events.

How do you look after it? It's pretty well self-sufficient as far as maintenance goes. It gets the oil changed every six months and it's all good.

Any challenges? We had a few issues early on with overheating and also the ignition. It would stop whenever it felt like it. We have sorted that out and it's very reliable now.

What's your dream ride? This car. I also have a HQ 1 tonner. I'd like a statesman, panel van and a station wagon, all HQs. I just love them.
