Youth TV ads turn peers off drugs

YOUTH Off the Streets founder Father Chris Riley is encouraging young people aged 10 to 16 years nationwide to participate in an anti-drug awareness campaign.

Now in its 10th year, Youth Off The Streets is calling for final entries into the GetReel Design a Drug Ad Competition.

The closing date for entries is October 14.

Schools, youth groups and individuals are invited to enter by designing a 30 second television ad targeting youth drug use.

Students can work individually or in teams to develop a message they think will help reduce drug related harm among their peers.

Winning entries will be produced as professional television ads and aired on national TV.

Entrants will also have the opportunity to win a range of Sony prizes, including TVs, Handycams, Bloggie Cameras and Sony CD/DVD packs.
